End of Days – 2012 Review
‘2012‘ is a popcorn flick, pure and simple. The effects are impressive, but that’s all the film has going for it. It’s a movie driven purely by special effects. Unfortunately, it’s all director Roland Emmerich is known for these days. You go to see this type of kind of movie for pure, unabashed, dumb, entertainment. Nothing more! There were a few scenes in the film that were either stupid or bothersome, but so what. Don’t analyze it, just enjoy the ride.
This is John Cusack and Amanda Peet’s movie, but Woody Harrelson steals the show as a conspiracy theorist hippy living in the woods. .
TWO -1/2 STARS OUT OF FIVE

Agreed, the reason to see it is to watch stuff being destroyed.
I was amused by how it keeps the Hollywood cliche alive that as long as lava doesn't actually TOUCH you, then it's not lethal. (See also Dante's Peak, Volcano, and many others.) Never mind that it heats the air around it to a thousand degrees.
