TV Line reports that ‘Sanctuary’ and ‘Stargate’ star, Amanda Tapping will be joining ‘Supernatural’ Season 8. Unfortunately, women do NOT tend to last long on that show. Every female character on that show has met an untimely demise. Heck, every male character on the show has met an untimely demise…at least once.
According to Ausiello, “Tapping will play Naomi…a cool and mysterious, part of a new group of angels we’ve never seen before.”
“The original casting breakdown for Naomi called her a ‘no-nonsense bureaucrat’ a la Matt Damon in The Good Shepherd. ‘She wears a business suit and has her hair pulled back,’ read the notice. However, Naomi is less together than she appears to be. Her efficient manner belies a deeper emotionality.”
Supernatural returns October 3rd at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
Hope she lasts, although I don't watch the show. Always had a thing for her.
I learned two things today. Amanda Tapping is joining the show, and Alex always had a thing for her!
I am beyond excited to hear that Amanda Tapping is guest staring! As such an amazing Sci-Fi veteran, I hope that her role is reoccurring throughout the season. A co-worker at DISH and I have been trying to figure out who the new group of angels could be. But with all of the different mythology on the show, it’s too soon to tell. I am so glad that my Hopper has 2,000 hours of recording space with my late train ride coinciding with so many shows. I would hate to miss her debut as what I am sure will be one of the coolest interpretations of an angel to date.
I think she'll meld well with the cast.
Alex– I hope so too. She's great. Although women don't tend to last on that show. So things are not looking good!
Libby– Ha, yes. I think most scifi fans have a thing for her.
Shockgrubz– Me too. She seems to fit right in wherever she goes. So glad she's coming to one of my favorite shows.
